I’ve never carried a poem in my pocket, but I carry many favorites in memory, with me at all times, all weather, all states of dress and undress.
And it doesn’t take much to get me started quoting said poetry, either. My secretary, when she had had enough, would tell me to go back to my office. “Go to your room, Sarah!” she’d say.
It was only after I had retired that she admitted that she enjoyed the poetry, the quotations from Shakespeare, etc., and that mostly she was teasing me.
Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow creeps in this petty pace from day to day….
